Job Description

PURPOSE OF POSITION: 

 To supervise the overall swing shift operation of the production, receiving, and delivery departments in a safe and efficient manner.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Supervise all mill activities to ensure:

-Receiving of quality ingredients

-Efficient and economical production of feed

-Compliance of quality control standards

-Compliance of department, division andcorporate policies and procedures

-Provide safety training and a safe work environment for all employees

-Ensure compliance of all required safety, DOT, FDA, BSE, FSMA, VFD regulations and insure proper  documentation.

-Maintain housekeeping program

-Assist with maintaining Air Board Permit requirements

-Feed delivery schedules to meet Live Production demands and monitor the different types of feed programs and ensure integrity

-Maintain all SOPs and JSTAs for employees

-Maintain PIT, CPR, Train, Rail Car, Confined Space, and Individual employee training

-Maintain SDSs, monthly safety meetings, and training records

-Supervise night shift maintenance personnel in the absence of the Maintenance Supervisor

-Release unit trains and straggler cars as needed.

-Fleet maintenance schedules

-Order parts and supplies as needed

-Coordinate and ensure accurate inventories

Qualifications

1. 2 years minimum experience managing/supervising in a manufacturing/operations environment.
2. BA/BS degree in Business Management, Ag Business/Production or related field preferred.
3. Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including but not limited to: Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook. SAP, M-Tech, Repete, MII, Telogis, Lytx and Kronos experience preferred.
4. Demonstrate the ability to communicate verbally and in writing
5. Balanced technical/mechanical/human resource knowledge.
6. Able to evaluate line employees fairly and objectively.
7. Must have good interpersonal skills and be able to work effectively with all employees, departments, vendors and contractors.
8. Demonstrated ability to research problems and implement solutions.
9. Growth potential to assume more responsibility.
10. Must be able to work varying shifts and weekends when needed.
11. Demonstrated experience in maintaining a safe working environment in a production setting,
