Job Description

Purpose of position:
Develop and implement strategies to reduce and maintain Retail deduction balances, supervise eight (6 full-time, 2 part-time) AR staff members, develop metrics and strategies to maximize productivity, resolve complicated deductions that require escalation to sales/marketing management and review business processes to enforce best practices.


Essential job functions:
Develop and implement strategies to reduce and maintain Retail deduction balances

Supervise AR staff members and develop metrics and strategies to maximize productivity

Resolve complicated deductions that require escalation to sales/marketing management and review business processes to enforce best practices.

Review all business processes versus best practices and implement changes where needed.

Ensure all processes yield accurate and timely customer records identify processes that could lead to incorrect reporting, implement corrective action.

Develop and analyze complex reporting models.

Evaluate distinctions among customer accounts to ensure balanced distribution of accounts among staff

Develop reporting that will represent the promotional landscape which ultimately drives the department’s workload

Communicate with sales & marketing groups to ensure deduction resolution is appropriate, identify opportunities to improve promotional offerings and provide key information to ensure timely and accurate deal true-ups

Additional functions:
Analyze allocation of resources
Resolving exceptions to clerical transactions involving pricing, disputed charges, etc.


Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

BS Degree in accounting or finance
Two-three years of accounting/finance experience and two-three years of supervisory experience
Strong system skills (Excel, BW, SAP)
Excellent analytical skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and excellent organizational skills and detailed oriented
Ability to work well independently and with a team
Must be self-motivated, assertive, objective, and resourceful.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS: 

MBA or CPA
Three-four years of accounting/finance experience and three-four years of supervisory experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 

Consistent and reliable attendance
Ability to work in fast paced, high pressure situations
