Job Description

The selected individual will provide safe and effective training of peritoneal dialysis therapy to patients in compliance with standards outlined in the company policy procedure manuals as well as regulations set forth by the company, state and federal agencies. Responsibilities include assessing patient care needs every visit, participating in staff training and orientation of new staff as assigned and attending all staff meetings as scheduled.

  • Assures and oversee proper home hemodialysis delivery of care according to the minimum standards for patient care and treatment under TDHS and DADS Guidelines for ESRD facility and staff assisted home hemodialysis program.

  • Coordinates clinical departments and branches; assumes responsibility for continuity, quality, and safety of services delivered in compliance with State and federal regulations

  • Provides direction to subordinates, in an effort to ensure quality, compliance with Plan of Care and assessment and reassessment of patients’ hemodialysis needs and continuity of services by appropriate health care personnel

  • Monitors systems and identifies problem areas to Administrator both verbally and through written reports

Qualifications

  • Minimum of one-year medical-surgical nursing experience preferred
  • Dialysis Experience required - 18 of the last 24 months
  • Peritoneal dialysis experience with a minimum of 6 months recent experience
  • Successfully complete a training course in the theory and practice of peritoneal and hemodialysis.
  • CPR Certification.
  • Employees have to meet the necessary requirements of Ishihara's Color Blindness test as a condition of employment.
  • Provide coverage at any or all area facilities as required by management.
  • Nurses Technical Training.
  • Must meet appropriate state requirements (if any).
