Friends of Brenda Lenard is a grassroots initiative of the Brenda Lenard for United States Senate campaign. FOBL is composed of 95 various Tennessee county chapters, united by a single statewide campaign. The primary goals of the organization are to increase grassroots support of conservative principles and values while working to alleviate voter apathy. 

The organization's activities are centered around political activism in favor of Brenda Lenard's vision of a Better. Brighter. Bolder America which include upholding the Freedom Flat Tax Act, the Defense of Marriage Act, the Second Amendment, the Secure Fence Act of 2006, in addition to repealing the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare), the Online Sales Tax Bill, Agriculture Reform, Food and Jobs Act of 2013 and the EPA's “Utility MACT” Rule.   

Job Description

This select group of  undergraudate students from across the state dedicate their time, talents, energy, and service to better the community, America and the Friends of Brenda Lenard grassroots. The intern assignments include staffing campaign events, attending meetings, conducting research, and managing campaign correspondance.

 

In addition, interns’ responsibilities and tasks vary by department, all interns are united through weekly events including a weekly speaker series with senior staff members and focus group meetings exploring different aspects  of the political process. The internship experience includes an emphasis on public service and Friends of Brenda Lenard  interns participate in regularly scheduled public service initiatives. 

Qualifications


Applicants must be a United Statesresident , 18 - 24 years of age on or before the first day of the internship, and meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program at a college, community college, or university (two-to-four year institution)
  • A veteran of the United States Armed Forces who possesses a high school diploma or its equivalent and has served on active duty, for any length of time, in the two years preceding the first day of the internship
