G2 Ops is a dynamic and growing small business specializing in both government and commercial contracts in information technology.  We have an opening for a mid-level Systems Engineer with expertise in C4I systems capabilities and requirements analysis to support customers in San Diego, CA.

The C4I Design and Requirements Systems Engineer will be responsible for conducting capabilities analysis, requirements definition and allocation, and development of system design specifications for Navy shore-based C4I systems. The position requires working within an IPT environment and synthesizing a large number of inputs to create specifications of alternate design architectures. The position will require performance of market surveys to identify candidate technologies and the development of requirement specifications and other design architecture artifacts.

Essential Duties

• Perform capabilities and requirements analyses for Navy combat and communications systems architectures
• Perform technology market surveys and document requirements trade-off analyses
• Develop requirements specifications, architecture topologies and other system design artifacts
• Design and implement data calls, and then integrate resulting data within design artifacts
• Conduct frequent and direct interface with Navy program office and development lab personnel

Required Quliafications

• Experience designing or implementing distributed military communications and command/control network architectures
• Experience converting desired capabilities to requirements and design specifications
• Experience applying all aspects of the systems engineering process, including incorporating life-cycle support elements within system design specification
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong problem solving skills, a proactive attitude, and an attention to detail
• The ability to operate effectively in a distributed team environment

Desired Qualifications

• An understanding of current/future Navy C4I afloat and shore-based system architectures
• Experience implementing UML and SysML based model schemas
• Experience using NoMagic’s MagicDraw or other modeling tool suite

Education

• Bachelorʼs degree from accredited college or university in engineering - preferably in software, systems, or computer science/information systems

• DoD Secret Clearance Required
