I. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Innovation Manager is responsible for setting innovation strategy that requires changing or bringing new value propositions, products, services and production processes to CSI.
Goal of this position and its activity is to identify and prioritize new markets for future CSI growth, and also identify new technologies required to be successful in these new markets. Candidate will be directly involved in the development of product roadmapping for CSI clsoure categories. Expectations include a piepline for 10 new ideas and 4 new market introductions within 18 months. This position is accountable for developing and utilizing four innovation catagories; Breakthrough, Sustaining, New Market, and Disruptive for continued growth and development of the Core and Diversified Markets. This position is accountable for aligning our innovation strategy with our business strategy. Drive Innovation and business growth through research, need gap analysis and ideation. Work to find the next S curve, and gain understanding of our customers biggest issues.
The position will manage, plan, organize, direct, and monitor the teams resources and be the principle contact that links innovation between Sales, Capping, Manufactoring and Technology.
o Leading efforts to identify cross-category platform innovations
o Actively champion “translating the science” efforts across packaging platforms to translate advanced product innovation into consumer meaningful concepts.

o Drive productive conversations about the future
o Close the gap between ideas and execution
o Support our commercial team in becoming better business partners to our strategic customers
o Drive the culture to shift from an operational focused organization to a customer oriented organization.
o Engage all appropriate CSI business units to be proactive about the future
o Drive "Customer Intimacy", focusing on understanding & meeting customer requirements.
o Determine the key enabling technologies for future growth and work with Technology and the
Materials organization to ensure that these enabling technologies are prioritized and developed to
support the business.
o Build networks and establish relationships with others outside the company to stimulate creativity
II. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position reports directly to the VP of Diversified Products, will be ocated in Memphis, and will lead a cross funtional team to include but not limited to a Business Development Mangers, Project Managers, Closure Experts, Capping Experts, and Manufactoring Platform experts. Position will have one creative design direct report. The team resources may change dependent on the needs and specific initiative.
III. EDUCATIONAL AND OTHER SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor degree in business, marketing, or engineering. MBA preferred.
- 5 to 10 years experience in the packaging organization including commercial and business development, research and development, operations management, and product development. Extensive experience in closure/packaging industry and /or consumer products. Must demonstrate the application of sound business practices through the knowledge and understanding of internal structures of organizations and how the missions and goals of each functional area work together to support the overall strategy, mission and goals of the Company.

Strong experience in developing comprehensive financial estimates and budgets, and in analyzing financial information to determine actions required in order to maximize return on investment in a product or business.
Other requirements expected of this position:
Light Physical Work: Lifting up to 25 pounds occasionally, and/or up to 15 pounds of force frequently, and/or minimum amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls require exertion of forces greater than that of Sedentary Work and the employee sits most of the time, the job is rated as Light Work. May sometimes need to work in bottling plant to support new product line trial, which may involve use of ladders, stairs, climbing, or working on platforms.
Must be able to travel as the business need arises, often on short notice. Must be able to travel long distances and to all parts of the globe.
Must be able to carry own luggage required for an international trip of 1-2 weeks duration.
Regular attendance and punctuality are required.
This position is based in Memphis, TN and requires ~20% travel.
