Job Description

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

Project Managers are ultimately responsible for delivering a new products to the market that meet pre-determined customer’s needs, on a timeline acceptable to the customer, at an agreed-upon price and profitability for CSI.

In order to meet these expectations, the PM is in charge of a cross-functional project team. Each team member is responsible for delivering part of the project. The PM’s primary role is to ensure that these functions deliver the results in a coordinated way.

Primary Tasks and Deliverables 

  • Manage projects via the NPD Value Creation Process (Stage-Gate)
  • Meets all customer and/or market requirements
  • Commercializes on time per customer expectations
  • Delivers target EBITDA
  • Manages budget for capital expenditures and project expense
  • Communicates effectively with all members of the organization in order to deliver results
  • Provides timely updates on project developments to direct management, PAC members, and
    project team members as necessary
  • Creates clear project plans and timelines; helps team members plan and prioritize work
  • Maintains a positive and safe work environment for all team members
  • Drives improvement in project execution
  • Reduction in time to market
  • Cost savings
  • Balances key decisions with technical risk and financial risk 
  • Serves as the primary resource for the customer during the project
  • Sets realistic expectations
  • Manages the flow of information to and from the customer
  • Develops a relationship with key customer personnel to help work through any challenges
    on the project
  • Delivers CSI messaging/positioning to the customer as needed
  • This position reports to the NPD Manager for the North America Region of CSI

Qualifications

EDUCATIONAL AND OTHER SKILL REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor degree in a technical discipline required, i.e., engineering, packaging, chemistry,
    physics. Master’s Degree in technical discipline or MBA preferred or 5 years equivalent experience in project management.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Project management experience and PMP Certification

  • Knowledge of packaging industry with experience in beverage or food packaging desired

  • Experience managing a capital budget of above $1M USD

Work Schedule:
8 hour days, with occasional after hours work

PPE: ANSI Z41 approved safety shoes, hearing and eye protection as appropriate for work area, gloves
according to work task, and other PPE as assigned and required. 

Tools and Equipment:
Various writing utensils, radios, phone, computer, printers, fax machines, calculators, various computer software required for specific roles. 

Environmental Conditions:
Climate controlled office facility with occasional or frequent exposure to manufacturing plant floor. Employees may work around moving parts and mobile equipment. Exposure to noise levels requiring hearing protection when in production area.

What physical requirements are expected of this position?

WORKING CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT

This position will be managing most of the product groups that are responsible for product and process design for the global CSI organization.  This group consists of 40 scientists, engineers and technologists, and 30 technicians with an annual operating budget of $10MM.
