Gerresheimer Peachtree City L.P. was established in 1993 in Peachtree City, GA, as part of the Plastics & Devices Division manufacturing and assembling a variety of precision molded plastic parts for various applications in the medical industry. The subsidiary operates in an 132 K sq. ft. production facility with 200 employees. 

Job Description

Material Handler (Outside Clean Room) works to ensure a failure-free production run in relation to material supply and removal outside of the clean room and pulling product for all manufacturing operations, processing computer transactions, transferring products to the offsite warehouse and maintaining inventory control.

WAREHOUSE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Pull and transport raw material from the offsite warehouse to the plant.
  • Pull and transport finished goods and work in progress (WIP) from the plant to the offsite warehouse.
  • All finished goods should be plastic hand wrapped prior to transportation to the offsite warehouse.
  • Unload truck at offsite warehouse and prepare all finished as per customer specification.
  • Locate all finished goods into warehouse racks.
  • Complete all manual data entry in EAS for all transfers to and from the offsite warehouse.
  • Identify all scrap in the production plant by type and weight, complete a packing list for all identified scrap, transfer all scrap to the designated scrap trailer, complete a BOL for the trailer and contact TKO to arrange for a pickup once the trailer is full.
  • Maintain all empty Gaylord's and ensure they are disposed of properly.
  • Maintain housekeeping of warehouse, truck and work area.

PLANT / PRODUCTION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work in tandem with Production staff, Maintenance and Management in a combined effort to maintain the efficient operation of the shift as a whole.
  • Transfer the appropriate Gaylord's or bagged resin from the rack system to the area under the mezzanine or production machines.
  • Setup feeding system for resin, insert wands into Gaylord's and periodically check to ensure that material is feeding.
  • Complete all documentation regarding the setup of the feeding system as well as appropriate resin documentation as per the lot numbers on packing list.
  • Operate the dryer system and complete all documentation related to the dryer operation as well as clearing the material supply components outside the clean room.

  • Maintain and ensure that dryer hopper is set at the appropriate drying set point and that the correct level of material is maintained at all times.
  • Climb ladders to answer alarms, complete close-up visual checks of levels when necessary, make visual checks of equipment and peripherals and restart dryers when necessary.
  • Perform line clearance on the material feed line to dryers/hopper and to the molding machines. Load all material for new production jobs.
  • Perform trouble shooting of Material Resin System (MRS) and resolve quality related complaints from production.
  • Responsible for ensuring that during mold changes all resin is checked and signed off on to be within the process parameters established for that product.
  • Responsible for updating the documents in the production folder on a daily basis.
  • Visually inspect filters on dryers, hoppers and where applicable on all injection machines during material changes and as needed for trouble shooting material pulling issues.
  • Visually inspect and clean filters on vacuum system.
  • Responsible for MRS cleaning as well as the completion of the documentation related to the cleaning of the MRS.
  • Pull, organize, palletize and document all finished goods from the vestibules as well as the production areas outside of the clean room.
  • Setup and provide all packaging boxes for production.
  • Responsible for maintaining the optimal flow of production supplies through the operation of the Kanban system.
  • Responsible for ensuring that QA frequently and timely performs checks on products being transferred to the offsite warehouse.
  • Complete daily safety checks and documentation regarding forklifts, pallet jacks and any other equipment used in the performance of job.
  • Maintain housekeeping of MRS, production warehouse and work area.
  • Consult and work with team manager on all technical issues.
  • Notify persons in charge of any non-standard or sub-performance operational issues as well as quality and safety issues.
  • Ensure safety adherence.
  • Ensure that established policies, procedures, rules and regulations are understood and followed.
  • Participate in all training programs as well as GMS.
  • Perform moisture analysis on dried resin.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Previous experience in manufacturing environment
  • Experience working in a fast paced and hands-on operational environment with constant interaction with operators, technicians, and equipment
  • Forklift operation experience
  • Experience working with a variety of mold machines.
  • Experience with SAP and MS Office
  • Experience working with different types of resins.
  • Experienced knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice within the Medical or Food Industry.
  • Experience in problem solving and trouble shooting of processes and process equipment.
  • Good mechanical aptitude.
  • Required to speak, read, and write English language
  • Ability to work well within a team environment
  • Must have good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate
