Job Description

GoodData’s marketing organization is looking for a highly-motivated individual to oversee our team responsible for Product Marketing.  This is an outbound product marketing role that works with inbound product management functions.

 

  • Define go-to-market strategies (target market / competitor analysis, planning / forecasting, partnering initiatives, pricing, positioning, methods, unique selling proposition) for the GoodData Platform and Powered By businesses.
  • Work closely with international engineering team in the Czech Republic as they translate market requirements into detailed product requirements. Collaborate with customers and engineering in defining current and new offerings to be built as well as assist in setting technology directions.
  • Strong writer and presenter
  • Provide facts-based competitive analysis to insure that offerings provide superior capabilities when compared to the competition, and are more effective than competitors’ products at meeting and anticipating the needs of the customer.
  • Build effective processes and metrics for success. Facilitate a new disciplined approach and standards for the roadmap and direction of the organization. Establish accountability standards and ensure adherence to them for product development.
  • Meet frequently with customers, potential customers, and partners - deliver sales material, roadmap and strategic content and overcome objections.
  • Build, lead and mentor an outstanding team of product marketers to drive product definition, prioritization, and feature enhancements, within the context of the corporate strategy.

Create Marketing Materials to assist Sales in all facets of customer acquisition.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of product management experience, in a leadership role within the enterprise products space (SaaS / Cloud), with an emphasis on deep technology – especially with BI best practices experience (ETL, modeling, analytic methods) combined with astute business (GM) acumen.
  • Demonstrated record of defining and driving to launch successful software products and SaaS services to true revenue generation.  Has delivered a differentiated product experience in a crowded market.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding product driven organization and assume a broad range of responsibilities.
  • Experience working with a technical founder and a dispersed engineering team is a must. (Most of engineering is based in Czech Republic).
  • Strategy and Execution: established ability to deliver world class product management across the full product life-cycle, including demonstrating clear wins in user experience, product delivery processes, positioning, product strategy and product launch.
  • Demonstrated track record of developing go-to-market strategies based on business objectives and executing these programs that deliver measurable business results.
  • Leadership: verified success in managing global teams and developing strong cross-cultural relationships
  • Exceptional communications with engineering, sales, support, marketing, customers and executive management.
  • A recognizable “player” within the field, who will be sought out by peers, analysts and opinion leaders alike.  A thought leader.
  • Passion for and deep knowledge of strategies and tactics that engage consumers, build direct traffic, drive membership, and build deep loyalty with members
  • Build and perpetuate a positive ‘can do’ team culture, but also a culture that is respectful, courteous and has high integrity.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required, advance degree preferred
  • Role based in their San Francisco, CA HQ location. Travel to the Czech Republic is required once a quarter.
