Goodwill  Easter Seals (GES) is a non-profit, United Way partner agency serving 12  counties in the Alabama-Florida Gulf Coast area. The agency provides programs and services to help individuals and  families overcome challenges due to disabilities or other barriers that impact  economic well-being, self sufficiency and quality of life.

Job Description

To provide and coordinate services, connections to resources and referral information to families with young children participating in the HIPPY Program.

Essential Functions: (must be able to perform these functions, with or without a reasonable accommodation).

v  Leads the coordination, implementation, monitoring and reporting of GES HIPPY Program services for Baldwin County.

v  Provides direction, guidance, and feedback to team members ensuring quality service delivery to children and families in compliance with agency, state and national requirements and standards.

v  Markets program and recruits potential enrollees through community networking, involvement with local agencies, parents and other service providers involved in early care and education.

v  Provides appropriate instruction, guidance and feedback to Parent Educators regarding home visitation activities and schedules, procedures, behavior management, curriculum and parent communications to ensure quality programming consistent with GES mission, philosophy, policies and standards.

v  Conducts Home Visits with enrolled families and implements the HIPPY curriculum and delivers direct services as described above with assigned caseload as needed.

v  Provides statistical, financial and programmatic reports as scheduled in a timely and efficient manner.

v  Monitors services provided by contracted staff and reviews, prepares and submits invoices for payment of services.

v  Monitors the day-to-day operation of the HIPPY Program ensuring that all enrolled children and families receive services according to GES expectations and consistent with the HIPPY Model.    

v  Accurately inputs all data and progress information into the ETO and GES database systems within the time specified.

v  Provides and maintains proper, updated and accurate documentation on each child and family, ensuring program compliance with regulatory and funding partner agencies.

v  Maintains accountability of inventory of supplies, materials and equipment essential to the operation of the program and follows proper procedures for new acquisitions and purchases.

v  Plans, develops and coordinates yearly program calendar which reflects a variety of enriching, educational and extracurricular   activities for children, families and team members.

v  Maintains effective communications with parent educators, parents and community service providers through use of meetings, conferences, newsletters, memos, etc.

v  Coordinates and/or conducts initial intake interviews and other eligibility activities for enrolling new families.

v  Assists in identifying and securing opportunities for expansion of services through grant opportunities and/or collaborative partnerships.

v  Stays current on issues pertaining to early childhood development and education by participating in on-going training and professional development opportunities including seminars, conferences, in-house training and through personal research.

v  Coaches others and fosters team building by demonstrating active listening, open communication, encouragement, support and shared decision making.

v  Collaborates with educational, medical and community resource partners to obtain optimal results of HIPPY services.

Qualifications

Experience and Education Requirements:

 

  • Experience and Education Requirements:

    • Must be a resident of Baldwin County
    • Bachelor’s degree in early childhood/special education or related field required. 
    • Two years of closely related experience in education, social work or human services required. 
    • Supervisory experience a plus. 
    • Strong computer skills, including word processing, required. 
    • Must have reliable means of transportation, a valid drivers’ license, liability automobile insurance      and be insurable through the agency’s insurance carrier.        

 

Additional Information

  • Part-time position -  Monday-Thursday 9am-3pm with some evenings and weekends
