Dr. Edgar J. Helms, Jr. founded the Goodwill movement in Boston in 1902 based on one simple philosophy:  What people really want is “not charity, but a chance” to work.  His philosophy continues today in more than 200 independent Goodwill locations in North America and 23 countries.  Goodwill of Middle Georgia was founded in 1975 to create economic energy by providing job training and placement services to residents in Middle Georgia who were unemployed or underemployed. Goodwill Industries realizes the value of having a job.  Goodwill believes that work is more "caught than taught" – the results of an energized working environment where the rhythm of work is contagious. • Greets and assists customers in merchandise selection.
  
• Operate store cash register in compliance with company policy
• Close out assigned cash drawer at the end of shift and balance cash amounts.
• Rotates merchandise from sales floor as instructed. 
• Assists in display and merchandise presentation of sales floor.
• Maintains store housekeeping to company standards.
• Complies with all company safety and security policies and procedures.
• Cross trains in other workstations.
• The successful candidate must be comfortable working with individuals with diverse barriers to employment.
• Position is physically demanding. Minimum lift requirement is 50 lbs. on a continuous basis. Ability to stand and walk on concrete flooring for 8 hour shift. Ability to stoop, bend, reach above shoulder height to stock.
  
• Must be available to variable work shifts between 8am and 9pm. Weekend hours are included in regular schedules
  
• All positions require daily production and QMS goals be met. Prior fast paced retail/warehouse experience desired. 
  

• Exceptional customer service focus with a "can-do" attitude
• Ability to operate a POS register system
• Will help with stocking and inventory maintenance, processing of donations.
• Will cross-train to other areas as needed
