Goodwill Industries of Middle Georgia was founded in 1975. When James K. Stiff, came to Goodwill of Middle Georgia in 1994, the organization was still very small, employing only 60 individuals. Mr. Stiff saw the need for the services that Goodwill provides in the CSRA and added them in 1996. Since then, Goodwill Industries of Middle Georgia and the CSRA has grown to over 700 individuals on payroll and 14 value retail stores.

Job Description

Goodwill Industries seeks a positive, energetic individual for a full-time position of Retail Associate-Cashier at the Augusta Campus location (Furys Ferry Rd). Cashier will assist customers with their purchases by operating a cash register and handling various transactions. As needed cashier will be assigned to other designated tasks to include: determine quality of merchandise and prepare for the sales floor, remove rejected merchandise to determined area per company procedure, properly record production and rotation numbers, participate in light housekeeping duties, assist in stocking of soft goods and hard goods and help with weekly inventory. Must ensure good customer relations and direct complaints to the proper authorities.

Qualifications

The ideal associate will value customer service as the essential job function and portray a positive attitude with all individuals . Will display a willingness to learn and act as a mentor to fellow employees. Prior customer service, cashier experience and retail/production background is desired. Knowledge of basic math functions and computer register system. Strong interpersonal and communication skills needed in order to provide quality customer service. Able to work flexible hours and weekends and must be able to lift and carry at least 50lbs throughout an 8 hour work day.
