Job Description

Goodwill Home Medical Equipment (GHME) collects donations of gently used medical equipment such as wheelchairs, hospital beds, lifts, ramps, canes, crutches, and more. Equipment is evaluated and reconditioned, so each item can be placed 'back in action' with someone in need. Equipment is then displayed and made available for affordable cost in our retail store. The showroom is open to the public Monday - Saturday.

Qualifications

Description:  

  • Answer telephone, take messages, and dispense resource & equipment information.
  • Greet and assist customers with questions and requests.
  • Explain and detail the features of all medical equipment in showroom.
  • Use Goodwill Point-of-Sale (POS) system for every customer transaction.
  • Use POS system to enter & track details and complete customer transactions, deliveries, etc.
  • Assist customers with transporting purchases to vehicle.
  • Assist in accepting equipment donations as needed.
  • Fulfill daily assignments for sorting, pricing, stocking, and organizing donated medical supplies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Must establish and maintain an effective working relationship with, and among, store employees.
  • Must interact cordially and productively with donors, customers, and Goodwill employees.
  • Must be able to learn & work Point-of-Sale (POS) checkout system with accuracy and have excellent math skills.
  • Must be willing to learn about home medical equipment and its proper usage.
  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate clearly in English. Bilingual Spanish fluency is a plus.
  • Must have good computer skills.
  • Must be friendly, enthusiastic, compassionate, and patient.
  • Must enjoy fast-paced setting and being helpful.
  • Must be able to multi-task and have the physical ability to maintain a steady work pace with activities throughout each work shift.

Additional Information

High school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred. 1 year of public contact experience is preferred.
