Job Description

Goodwill Industries of Southern New Jersey & Philadelphia is accepting applications for the position of Material Handler at its warehouse in Bellmawr.

Material Handlers perform diverse warehouse and assembly duties within the warehouse setting. Material Handlers receive daily deliveries of donated product and support Goodwill's Outlet retail store, salvage unit, and textile team. Additionally, Material Handlers load and unload trucks and keep the warehouse organized. They also sort, assemble, palletize, and wrap according to the specification of assigned jobs.

Qualifications

Specific Duties:*

  • Loading and unloading of trucks.
  • Emptying rolling bins and bulk boxes of miscellaneous product.
  • Safely and effectively bale and prepare materials for shipment to Post-Retail customers.
  • Safe operation of baling machine, tipper, and forklift. (each of these tasks are done, only after proper and successful training has taken place)
  • Provide a smooth flow of goods to the production floor.
  • Daily cleaning and organizing the warehouse area.
  • Build and maintain internal and external customer satisfaction.
  • Helps to maintain safe and appropriate conditions in shopping and dressing and backrooms when required.
  • Follows company policies and safety procedures for all undertakings while on the job.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Abilities Needed:**

  • Must establish and maintain an effective working relationship with, and among, store and warehouse employees. Regular attendance, good work ethic, and the ability to work in a team setting are required.
  • Must interact cordially with donors, customers, and Goodwill employees.
  • Ability to function in a hectic work environment with occasional periods of high stress.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule on short notice.
  • Ability to lift and/or carry objects weighing up to 100 lbs.
  • Ability to engage in prolonged standing and walking.
  • Ability to engage in frequent bending, stooping and stretching.

Additional Information

High School diploma or GED equivalent preferred but not required.
