The Processor Trainee (Hardline) – Benigno Central Processing employee’s duties will be to sort, process, and stock hardline goods. This position prices and tags items to achieve highest dollar return and assumes responsibility for quality of donations processed. Processor Trainees must successfully complete a 6 week introductory period in order to be considered for advancement to the Processor position. The position is a member of the Retail Team.

Job Description

SPECIFIC DUTIES

  1. Follow all Goodwill policies and safety procedures. Must possess professional etiquette.
  2. Responsible to process all incoming hardline goods, including household, and furniture items.
  3. Maintains accurate and consistent prices for selected items or housewares. Empties containers and separates acceptable clothing, wares, collectables/antiques, and bin items.
  4. Keeps work area and surrounding area neat, clean, and orderly.
  5. Regular attendance is required.
  6. All other duties as assigned.

Hardline Processors

  • Will train onsite at Benigno Warehouse for a period of up to two weeks after initial hire.
  • After initial training, must meet the following production goals: 
  • Third week – a minimum of 6 gaylords processed/3 gaylords produced 
  • Fourth week – a minimum of 8 gaylords processed/4 gaylords produced 
  • Fifth week – a minimum of 10 gaylords processed/5 gaylords produced 
  • Sixth week – a minimum of 12 gaylords processed/6 gaylords produced
  • If unable to process 12 gaylords and produce 6 gaylords of wares after the sixth week of training, employee will be unable to continue as a Processor Trainee. Disciplinary action up to and including termination may be issued for not meeting production goals. The employee may be considered for other positions in the store, if available.

  1. Must be able to communicate effectively with co-workers.

  3. Must be able to work a flexible schedule on short notice, and occasional long hours.
  4. Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 lbs. frequently.
  5. Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
  6. Ability to engage in prolonged sitting, standing and/or walking.
  7. Ability to engage in frequent bending, stooping, and stretching.
  8. Vision corrected to within normal limits.
  9. Ability to work well in a hectic work environment with occasional periods of high stress.

Additional Information

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

High School or GED equivalent preferred but not required. One year of public contact experience preferred.
