We are looking for Customer Service Associates for our new retail location in West Philadelphia.  The Customer Service Associate performs cashier functions and provides exceptional customer service that is FAST, FUN, and FRIENDLY. The Customer Service Associate also stocks and merchandizes the sales floor.

Job Description

Specific Duties:*

  • Use cash register to total sales, accepts payment for merchandise and makes necessary change.
  • Stocks and maintains interior and exterior of store in a neat, clean, and orderly manner (includes vacuuming, dusting, cleaning bathrooms, mopping floors, washing windows, etc).
  • Follows company policies and safety procedures for all undertakings while on the job.
  • Maintains safe and appropriate conditions in shopping areas.
  • Assist customers in a polite and courteous manner. This should include:

       *“Service with a smile”

       *“Friendly exchange of words – e.g. “How can I help you?”

       *“Friendly and helpful attitude”

  • Regular attendance is required.
  • Other duties as assigned (non-essential).

Skills and Abilities Needed:**

  • Must establish and maintain an effective working relationship with, and among, store employees.
  • Must interact cordially and productively with donors, customers and Goodwill employees and have the ability to perform exceptional customer service.
  • Must be a friendly, charismatic-people person.
  • Must have and maintain a positive attitude.
  • Must be able to work cash register.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly in English.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule on short notice, including nights, weekends and occasionally long hours.
  • Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 lbs. frequently.
  • Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs.occasionally.
  • Ability to engage in prolonged standing and walking.
  • Ability to engage in frequent bending, stooping and stretching.
  • Vision corrected to within normal limits.
  • Ability to function in hectic work environment with occasional periods of high stress.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required.
