The Goodwill Store in Ewing is accepting applications for the position of Processor Trainee. As a Processor Trainee for Goodwill, you will have a chance to earn a living while supporting Goodwill's mission to help people with disabilities or disadvantages achieve their potential through work.

The Processor Trainee sorts, processes, and stocks softline and hardline goods. This position prices and tags items to achieve highest dollar return and assumes responsibility for quality of donations processed. Processor Trainees will be assigned as Softline or Hardline specialists and must successfully complete a 6 week introductory period in order to continue in the job. The position is a member of the Retail Team.

Job Description

SPECIFIC DUTIES
1.    Follow all Goodwill policies and safety procedures.  Must possess professional etiquette.
2.    Responsible to process all incoming softline and hardline goods, including clothing, household, and furniture items.
3.    Maintains high quality and high quantity in processing goals. The goals for Softline and Hardline specialists are:

Softline Processors

•    Must be able to train at Bellmawr Retail Operations Center for a period of up to two weeks after initial hire.
•    After initial training and return to home store, must meet the following production goals:
     *Third week – a minimum of 300 pieces per 8 hour shift if working individually. If working in a group processing environment, each employee in the group is responsible for a minimum of 37.5 pieces per hour (or a minimum of 300 pieces total per 8 hour shift).
     *Fourth week – a minimum of 400 pieces per 8 hour shift if working individually. If working in a group processing environment, each employee in the group is responsible for a minimum of 50 pieces per hour (or a minimum of 400 pieces total per 8 hour shift).
     *Fifth week – a minimum of 500 pieces per 8 hour shift if working individually. If working in a group processing environment, each employee in the group is responsible for a minimum of 62.5 pieces per hour (or a minimum of 500 pieces total per 8 hour shift).
     *Sixth week – a minimum of 600 pieces per 8 hour shift if working individually. If working in a group processing environment, each employee in the group is responsible for a minimum 75 pieces per hour (or a minimum of 600 pieces total per 8 hour shift).
•    If unable to produce a minimum of 600 pieces after the sixth week of training, employee will be unable to continue as a Processor Trainee.
 
Hardline Processors
•    Will train onsite at employee’s home store for a period of up to two weeks after initial hire.
•    After initial training, must meet the following production goals:
     *Third week – a minimum of 8 wares carts per 8 hour shift
     *Fourth week – a minimum of 11 wares carts per 8 hour shift
     *Fifth week – a minimum of 14 wares carts per 8 hour shift
     *Sixth week – a minimum of 16 wares carts per 8 hour shift
•    If unable to produce a minimum of 16 wares carts after the sixth week of training, employee will be unable to continue as a Processor Trainee.

4.    Maintains accurate and consistent prices for selected items or housewares. Empties containers and separates acceptable clothing, wares, collectables/antiques, and bin items.
5.    Keeps work area and surrounding area neat, clean, and orderly.
6.    Follows all customer service guidelines; strives to provide exceptional customer service at all times.
7.    Assist customers/donors as required, including accepting donations and selling merchandise.
8.    Regular attendance is required.
9.    All other duties as assigned.

1.    Must be able to communicate effectively with co-workers and customers.

4.    Must be able to work a flexible schedule on short notice, including nights, weekends, and occasional long hours.
5.    Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 lbs. frequently.
6.    Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
7.    Ability to engage in prolonged sitting, standing and/or walking.
8.    Ability to engage in frequent bending, stooping, and stretching.
9.    Vision corrected to within normal limits.
10.  Ability to work well in a hectic work environment with occasional periods of high stress.
11.  All other duties as assigned.    

EDUCATION

High School or GED equivalent preferred but not required. One year of public contact experience preferred.
