Job Description

HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST (BENEFITS) – Full Time

Location:  118 52nd Street

                         

Summary:  The HR Specialist is responsible for planning and coordinating functions in the areas of benefits and health & wellness programs while providing support to the Human Resources management team, agency management, and employees.  Duties include but are not limited to; assisting with the administration of all employee benefit programs; coordinating open enrollment and data entry; processing and reviewing all related billing; designing and developing tools to assist employees in benefit selection; maintaining current knowledge of ERISA, FMLA, and Healthcare Reform; maintaining and updating HR documents and resources; addressing employee issues appropriately; maintaining employee records.  The qualified candidate will possess excellent oral/written communication skills, be familiar with Microsoft Office Suite and other HRIS systems, be a team player, and have problem solving and organizational skills. Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources or related field

Experience:  2 years; experience with benefits administration, applicable laws and regulations required; development and implementation of employee wellness programming preferred.

Will accept a Bachelor’s in an unrelated field with 4 years of relevant experience

External Hiring Range:  $36,853-$40,250                                                               Travel Required:  Yes
