Job Description

 This position is responsible for directing the day-to-day workflow of the front and back of the store as a first-line supervisor.  Is responsible for overall store operation and supervision in the absence of the Store Manager.

 

Occupational Priorities: Incumbents should be focused on the following priorities; Financial: A. Ensuring cash register is appropriately staffed B. Making bank deposits, as required C. Maintaining appropriate security of cash and keys Personnel: A. Directing and assisting personnel in the daily completion of job duties B. Training new associates in policies, procedures and standards C. Ensuring compliance to policies and procedures D. Ensure associates provide a high level of customer service both front and back Production: A. Ensuring quick placement of high-quality, processed goods to the sales floor B. Meeting production numbers as set by divisional management C. Ensuring loss prevention and process flow guidelines are followed D. Ensuring work cells are properly stocked and staffed to meet production goals Safety: A. Ensuring all staff performs duties according to safety expectations and procedures B. Ensuring the physical safety of the back room and sales floor C. Communicating safety issues and concerns to ensure quick resolution ______________________________________________________________________________________________________ Job-related Tasks: These are the tasks the incumbent will perform on a daily basis; (not all-inclusive) A. Assist in maintaining a safe, clean, attractive store B. Assist the store manager with interviews, discipline and staff training issues C. Communicate with Store Manager, events that occur in the Manager’s absence D. Ensure compliance to policies and procedures designed to protect personnel, donated goods and cash E. Handle day-to-day decisions regarding work flow and supervisory issues F. Ensure a positive customer experience at both sales floor and donation door. G. Demonstrate commitment to the mission of the organization H. Complete any special projects delegated by management

Qualifications

Strong organization and multi-tasking ability F. Ability to document incidences appropriately G. Adaptability in performance of duties Industry Specific: A. Knowledge of product movement B. Knowledge of retail shopping environment C. Commitment to mission of the organization D. Comfort with handling cash and operation of a cash register E. Understanding of the importance of the donor process and how it supports the mission Educational/Technological: A. The incumbent should have a minimum of 1 year experience in supervision B. High school diploma or equivalent is required. Some college preferred. C. Solid comfort level with utilizing all aspects of computers to complete the job, not limited to; POS at cash register Windows environment and internet use On-line training and web-based meetings D. Familiarity with safety requirements in a warehouse/retail environment E. Basic understanding of legal requirements regarding employment

Additional Information

The work week averages 36-40 hours a week.
