Job Description

SUMMARY:

Provide our guests with an exceptional learning experience in the skills of skiing or snowboarding.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Teach quality skiing/snowboarding lessons as assigned.
  • Attend training clinics as scheduled.
  • Report to class line-ups as scheduled and on time.
  • Adhere to all safety requirements and standards at all times.
  • Follow appropriate children center procedures when assigned there.
  • Other duties as assigned.                            

 

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Adjust class by moving students to appropriate class, when necessary.
  • Maintain a clean and organized ski school and children center area at all times.
  • Maintain a clean and organized resort area by picking up refuse and other items in and around the resort.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Employees are held accountable for all duties of this job.

 

Qualifications

  • Knowledge, Skills & Ability:
    • Ability and Skills to ski and snowboard.
    • Requisite skills to teach skiing and/or snowboarding classes.
    • Willingness to learn new instructional methods.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with students, guests and staff.
    • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
    • Ability to receive and respond to instructions and critical feedback.
  • Education or Formal Training:
    • High School Diploma or equivalent.
    • PSIA, AASI certification preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Experience teaching.
    • Experience teaching skiing/snowboarding preferred.
  • Working Environment:
    • Must be able to work outdoors for long periods of time in a winter mountain environment with variable weather conditions.
    • Some indoor work for the children center.
  • Physical Activities:
    • Must be able to physically teach skiing and/or snowboarding classes and lessons.
    • Must be able to lift up to thirty (30) pounds or more.
