The Greater Cleveland Food Bank’s mission is working together to ensure that everyone in our communities has the nutritious food they need every day. The Food Bank is the cornerstone of Northeast Ohio’s hunger relief efforts, serving as the link between members of the food industry that have excess food and over 600 local hunger programs. The Food Bank is the sole nonprofit provider of food to local nonprofit hunger centers in our six-county service area, distributing nonperishable food, fresh produce, perishable and frozen foods, and prepared meals.

 The Food Bank was founded in 1979 when representatives from the food service industry partnered with local charities to find an efficient way to distribute surplus food that might otherwise go to waste.

Job Description

The Greater Cleveland Food Bank is seeking an Operations professional needed to guide and direct the warehouse activities to include receiving / inventory of items, product sorting and repacking, perishable distribution and ensuring accurate product availability and efficient storage of product in the warehouse. Candidate will also be responsible for driving safety and food safety standards according to AIB and OSHA standards. This position formulates and executes strategic plans, structure and processes necessary to manage the organization's current activities and its projected growth

Qualifications

Candidate should possess B.A. required, Masters Degree preferred, 6-8 yrs of operational management experience required, in distribution preferred, with at least 5 years of supervisory experience, sound knowledge and understanding of inventory systems mandatory, outstanding leadership abilities, multitasking and time management skills, exceptional organizational and communication skills, strong attention to detail.
