Anyone can walk dogs. And every dog walker in Chicago claims to love animals.  But we think a real passion for pets should translate into better care. Green Paws Chicago has two simple missions:  To provide every pet the love and care they deserve, and to be socially responsible in ways that improve both the pet community and the world at large.  We take better care of our clients and their pets than anyone else in the business.

We are looking for driven pet care professionals to provide walking, sitting and other pet care services to our clients in the Roscoe Village and North Center neighborhoods.  We are a socially responsible company, and are looking for people who share a commitment to the environment and the wellbeing of animals.   This is a permanent position with lots of room for advancement - so please only apply if this is what you want to do for the long term.

We want only the best people for our Green Paws Chicago team, and our clients entrust us with their pets and the keys to their homes — a responsibility we take very seriously.  This isn’t a place that you’ll find a summer job or a temporary position while you look for a “real job”, and we don’t hire people who aren’t serious about improving the lives of pets.  You should only apply if you are looking for a permanent position, will pass a background check, and are prepared for a hiring process that includes phone and in-person interviews and a full-day field interview with one of your peers during which you will see what it’s like to work for Green Paws Chicago.

The job will involve walks primarily in the 10 AM-4 PM time frame, with occasional evening and weekend walks available, as well as overnights in clients' homes or in your own (if you're allowed).   We also offer extra care for pets such as de-shedding services, flea/tick medication application, and teeth brushing, which provide opportunities for higher pay, and we encourage clients to have regular daily schedules so that pay is predictable. 

Ideal candidates will be able to work independently and enjoy being outside and on their bikes in all types of weather.  Candidates must have a reliable bike and an iPhone or Android phone.
