Haiyi Hotels is looking for a qualified Head Cook to join our great team at Custom Burger. Haiyi Hotels Management is a new boutique hotelier based in San Francisco. The name "Haiyi" comes from a combination of two Chinese words, HAI meaning "ocean" and YI meaning "leisure," which roughly translates to mean providing guests with an ocean of leisure and relaxation. Our five hotels include Best Western Americania, Best Western Carriage Inn, Good Hotel, Hotel Vertigo, and Hotel Metropolis. 

Job Description

The Head Cook will lead the daily operations of the Food and Beverage department, and will provide exemplary service to our guests and co-workers. This also includes being responsible for scheduling, the F&B budget, and all operations of the foodservice restaurant, lounge, and kitchen, as well as maintaining liaison with the Sales department in order to ensure maximum profitability. This individual should demonstrate a genuine passion for the hospitality industry and inspire others to provide excellent guest service.

Qualifications



 Essential:
1. Minimum two years college education.
2. Culinary background/experience.
3. Ability to speak, read, and write English fluently.
4. Previous hotel-related experience.
5. Progressive management experience in F&B operations.
6. Minimum of one year supervisory experience.
7. Ability to understand and implement cost controls.
8. Ability to use a computer.
9. Punctuality and regular and reliable attendance.
10. Interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with co-workers and the public.

Desirable:
1. Bachelors Degree.
2. Degree in Hotel/Restaurant Management.
3. Ability to communicate in a second language, preferably Spanish.
4. Previous experience as a bartender or server.
5. Previous experience with POS system - preferably Micros.
