Community Memorial Hospital, an esteemed healthcare system that provides primary care, performs sophisticated orthopedic surgery, meets the burgeoning demand for same day surgery, and provides a complete roster of diagnostic testing and ancillary services is seeking part-time Registered Nurses to join our Med/Surg team!

Job Description

Responsibilities include:

  • Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other specialists as required and adjusts nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Perform head-to-toe assessments on all patients and reassessments as per policy.
  • Maintains accurate and continued nursing documentation including patient histories, conditions, treatments, responses and assessment of changes.
  • Treats patients and their families with respect and dignity.  Identifies and addresses psychosocial, cultural, ethnic and religious/spiritual needs of patients, physicians and other healthcare providers.
  • Interacts professionally with patient and family, and involves patient and family in the formation of the plan of care.
  • Maintains current knowledge of medications and their correct administration based on age of the patient and his/her clinical condition.
  • Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, performance improvement program, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates should possess the following:

  • Current RN license within New York state
  • 1 or more years general Med/Surg nursing experience preferred
  • Medical administration and patient care experience preferred
  • Ability to demonstrate good assessment, care planning & critical thinking skills
  • Flexible to staffing needs based on patient care needs of Med/Surg department and the hospital
  • Availability to work every other weekend and holidays
  • Ability to work in other nursing units to the extent knowledgeable and trained

This position will have variable shifts.
