We are currently looking for an Application Developer – ITSM to support the business in achieving its strategic objectives.

What we will expect you to do:

As an Application Developer - ITSM, your key function will be to take responsibility for the development of our ITSM platform by prototyping, implementing, deployment and supporting the customisation or configuration in line with change requests, new services introduction and/or evolving business rules or requirements. This may include driving the vendor to develop the expected functionality at times.

You will be required to deliver on the following:

• Work closely with internal stakeholders to prepare a functional requirements document which provide the translation of the functional requirements into technical specifications.
• Use your analytical skills to scrutinise business requirements and ensure that the designed solution meets these requirements, understanding the project scope prior to documenting the development plan.
• Develop the approved code and produce a prototype of the expected functionality, validating and finalising the development following the required change management and release process.
• We will need you to work closely with technical teams to assist with the installation and deployment of the application, including:
• Implementation preparation
• Implementation of the solution into the production environment
• Resolution of any problems identified in the integration and test phases
• You will be required to participate and be actively involved in the Global Services Development and Support processes, including change and release management, training of end-users and the provision of support.

Here's what we are looking for in candidates for this job:


Key requirements:

• Degree in Information Systems would be advantageous
• Technical expertise in the following domains:
• Networks, Internet, modern protocols and email, SMTP, POP3
• Scripting through JavaScript, CSS, XML
• HTML and XHTML
• Active Director, LDAP
• AJAX
• Experience with legacy systems, batch files, web services, via APIs
• Working knowledge of relational databases
• Good understanding of and experience with ITIL 
• Understanding of systems generally used in a services organisation, e.g. Remedy, SAP, EMS would be advantageous
