We are currently looking for a Business Analyst – Global Service Operations Architecture for Managed Services for Data Centres (MSDC) to support the business in achieving its strategic objectives.

What we will expect you to do:

As a GSOA Business Analyst for MSDC, your key function will be to proactively develop and deploy enhanced MSDC services and platforms, covering all the functional aspects from service definition through to build and deployment, and the reactive day to day operational support of our services business. This will include acting as a bridge between the business problems and the technology solutions.

In this capacity we need you to deliver on the following:

  • Be the liaison among stakeholders in order to understand the structure, policies, and operations of an organization, and to recommend solutions that enable the organization to achieve its goals.
  • You will be required to analyse, transform and ultimately resolve the business problems with the help of technology.
  • Work with a variety of stakeholders to determine business requirements and to define solutions to address business, process, information and system problems, improvements or change and deliver business projects to achieve this.
  • Apply best practice methodologies to define, to scope, document and validate the requirements of internal clients for information, processes, information or system changes and improvements or problems.
  • In scoping business requirements, promote the reuse of existing assets and compliance with enterprise architecture.
  • You will be required to lead a small project and assist with the definition of small project plans or “owned” elements in large project or programme plans.

Qualifications

Here's what we are looking for in candidates for this job:


Key requirements:

  • Understanding of and experience with ITIL (IT Infrastructure Library)
  • Experience as a business analyst - between 3 to 5 years
  • A relevant diploma or degree 
  • A background as a system administrator or developer would be advantageous
  • Extensive experience in and with all operational aspects of a Services business, preferably with a Systems Integrator
  • Very good working knowledge of Microsoft Exchange, Word, Excel Project, PowerPoint and Visio
  • Understanding of system generally used in a services organisation e.g. ServiceNow, Siebel, Remedy, SAP, EMS would be advantageous
  • Understanding of project management processes and methodologies / 2 to 3 years’ experience working as part of a project team
  • Experience in coordinating and managing tasks, and small projects

Key abilities required:

  • Very good analytical skills with the ability to convert business requirements into operational deliverables (functional requirements) to meet business objectives
  • Excellent documentation skills, in particular, functional requirements, test cases, system user documentation, processes and procedures and presentations
  • Communication skills: written and verbal with good interpersonal skills
  • High level of initiative, accountability, attention to detail and ability to follow processes
  • Self-motivated, ability to work unsupervised as well as being able to work as part of a team in a global and sometimes pressured environment
  • Ability to learn new solutions, services and technologies through self-study (on the job and externally)
  • Proactive, flexible attitude to work with a willingness to constantly review and improve skills
  • Must be able and willing to travel locally and internationally, dependant on operational and project requirements
