Job Description

We are currently looking for a Senior Service Development Specialist to support the business in achieving its strategic objectives.

As a Senior Service Development Specialist, your key function will be to take responsibility for the development and launching of quality Managed Services product in a consistent and timely manner to a target client base through Dimension Data’ s regional divisions. The objective is the adoption of new releases of the Managed Services by Dimension Data divisions thereby enabling projected revenues to be achieved.

What we will expect you to do:

  • You will operate at a global level and form part of the Managed Services Development Product Lifecycle Management team. In this capacity we will need you to deliver on the following:
  • Use your expertise in the development of managed services and prior experience to transform service product concepts into deployable services for a target client base.
  • You will need to function as Service Development subject matter expert within the Group and guide Group Service Introduction initiatives, ensuring ever-increasing quality and speed of service development and deployment.
  • We will require you to ensure that services are built and deployed to Product Management requirements while concurrently ensuring alignment with the Services Framework (SF) and the integration with established service operations architectures.
  • You will execute the responsibilities of and produce the deliverables associated with the Service Development and Operations function within the Group Service Introduction Process (GSIP). Example deliverables include document creation and quality assurance.
  • Assist with the on-going development of the overall SF, in close collaboration with the Service Operations function.
  • Assist with the on-going development of the GSIP and the alignment and verification of Regional and other business units’ Service Introduction Processes.
  • You will work closely with Global and Regional stakeholders to introduce incremental releases of services and to ensure full deployment of the service with the regions.

  • Highly developed technical capability across a broad range services.
  • Knowledgeable of the role of IT Service Management and product management in general 
  • Interpersonal skills with the ability to develop strong working relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including clients and technical and management colleagues
  • Strong presentation and communication skills and comfortable with communicating solutions to clients at a business and technical level
  • Proven skills in persuading and influencing management, staff, suppliers, clients and vendors
  • Ability to work in high-pressure situations and to manage urgent and complex tasks simultaneously 
  • Prudent decision making and sound negotiation skills
  • A strong client service orientation

Qualifications

Here's what we are looking for in candidates for this job:

Key requirements:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification (Post graduate level minimum)
  • Good mix of technical and & commercial/business training 
  • 10 years’ IT services experience, of which 5 with commercial annuity services development
  • Minimum ITIL Foundation certification
