Job Description

We are looking for a Director of Sales Training & Development who will drive rapid training innovation, development and delivery throughout Hearst Digital Media Services organization with a focus on Sales process, skills, tools, products and systems training. Training will be developed and delivered to all new and existing sales employees. This highly visible position requires the flexibility to simultaneously create and implement all aspects of the sales training process in a fast-paced, growing environment. Using leading edge industry knowledge, he/she will develop and drive training strategy, philosophy and systems to meet organizational goals and objectives.


Responsibilities:

  • Apply your experience and expertise to oversee the development and implementation of all training programs within the Hearst Digital Media Services sales organization (new hires, current reps and managers).

  • Collaborate with Executive team to establish a strategic vision to building high impact training programs that align to strategic operational initiatives and expectations.

  • Work closely with Sales Management at each of our properties to determine training needs, identify skill gaps, and assess training effectiveness.

  • Maintain a direct, collaborative relationship with property instructors to successfully acquire, develop and/or maintain up-to-date training information.

  • Create curriculums and manage ongoing lesson plans to ensure all sales employees receive consistent, ongoing training through a blended learning approach (live training, e-learning, and self-guided learning).

  • Continuously evaluate effectiveness of training programs and tools, and improve/adjust as appropriate.

  • Write and create content for best-in-class training materials and collaborate with Marketing to ensure materials are consistent with branding standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree required. Masters degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of proven experience in a learning and development/training role, 2-3 years success as a training manager or sales manager.

  • Must have experience in developing facilitator-led training and Web-based training.

  • Proven track record of effective team leadership and management of a dynamic training program.

  • Ability to be an organizational leader and clearly communicate and execute large scale plans.

  • Knowledge of SEO & SEM and/or other online products.

  • Exhibit project management skills in developing, leading and tracking project activities.

  • Must be willing to travel.
