We are looking to invite one more full-time, junior-level developer to join our growing team.

Heart Imaging Technologies has been a leader in the integration of web technologies and medical imaging by focusing on web applications for use by physicians. To be more specific, a PACS system and online viewer. If you're not familiar with medical imaging, a simplified description could be "an online photoshop for your x-rays". This can over-simplify things, as our product extends well beyond X-Rays into many other types of medical imaging, including but not limited to some which people may be familiar with, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Ultrasound (US), and Computed Tomography ("CAT" scan).

Our products are used by multiple clinics and hospitals across the country and around the globe, ranging from smaller private practices to large research institutions, a few examples being Duke University, Johns Hopkins, and Cornell as well as various installations in Brazil, Germany, Australia, and South Korea. We also host a cloud model and have had users from nearly all continents.

Even with our large presence, we are still a small team where everyone can wear many hats. As a developer, you will deal with many different areas of the code and many different stages in the development process. In addition, there is exposure to networking, hardware and OS setup, and pretty much everything involved in building and running a web server that hosts our web apps. Also, there is a great requirement for initiative, the initiative to seek out and learn being in some ways the most important.

For new hires, the initial goal will be to learn the system. Part of the responsibilities include fixing outstanding issues and bugs, as well as offering technical support to our customers. Being a small company, one will hold responsibilities quickly, but there's always someone available to help.
