If you love to spend time outdoors, are a self-starter and able to manage a changing schedule, this is the job for you. We are currently hiring for the position of HOUSE-SITTER . This position requires OVERNIGHT STAYS (sleeping over in a client's home). We are especially interested in candidates who are also available for HOLIDAY HOUSE-SITTING (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Years). Each overnight stay begins from the dinner period (5-7pm) and continues until the morning period (7-9am). House-sitting jobs last anywhere from 1 night to 2 weeks (you must be able to do all nights in that house-sitting order). You have the flexibility to pick and choose which jobs you would like to do. For holiday house-sitting, we can make arrangements for the day of the holiday so that you may spend time with family and friends. You are contacted for each House-sitting job that a client schedules, and may accept or decline each job. 

Generally, House-sitting is caring for dogs and may include other animals (cats, gerbils, fish etc). The type of work included in house-sitting is:

*walking dog (according to client profile)
*feeding each pet their special diet and maintaining each pet's daily routines
*spending time playing with or exercising each pet
*administering medication (when necessary) 
*combing or brushing each pet's coat (and any other animal care specified)
*mail and newspaper retrieval
*other specified care

You must ADORE pets! 

You must be extremely time-oriented and be able to manage your own schedule. 
You are dependable. Our clients rely on our dependability. 
You are able to sleep overnight in the client's home, arriving between 5-7pm and staying until 7am-9am the following day. It is our preference that you are available during weeknight evenings and not just on the weekends.
We prefer that you are available for at least one holiday house-sit (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years). There is an extra surcharge paid to house-sitters for holiday work. 
You are able to handle physical requirements of the job--- You can handle animals of varying sizes and are comfortable and willing to walk outside in all types of weather. (For house-sitting, you will be going out walking with the dogs at least 4 times during your stay) 
You are 21 years or older 
You are able to pass a criminal and background check 

You must HAVE--
* A reliable car, valid driver's license and auto insurance. OR reliable access to public transportation.
* Access to the internet
* A working cell phone (texting capability a plus)
* Basic written & verbal skill for interaction with our human clients
