Job Description

We are looking for a fashion-obsessed student to assist in producing Her Campus’s award-winning College Fashion Week (www.collegefashionweek.com) this fall. This is a rare and incredible opportunity for someone to help style dozens of head-to-toe runway looks for two distinct fashion shows, develop unique digital content in collaboration with our creative team and brand partners, and gain valuable event production experience in the fast-paced environment of a fashion show backstage.

Responsibilities:

  • Help vet, select, and style clothing and accessories for the 2017 show looks

  • Assist with photo and video shoots promoting College Fashion Week

  • Help manage the fashion closet, maintaining a deep understanding of current inventory and organization at all times

  • Receive and make shipments of fashion items when needed

  • Produce companion digital content to enhance the before, during, and after show experience

  • Help fit, style, and coach student models during the shows

  • Work backstage at the shows themselves (two Saturdays in September in Boston and NYC)

  • Assist the College Fashion Week team with miscellaneous administrative or clerical tasks

This internship will primarily be on site at and around the Her Campus Media offices in Boston’s Fenway neighborhood, plus travel to NYC for the NYC fashion show. The time commitment will be a minimum of 15 hours per week from June through September. Thus, the ideal candidate is a Boston area college student who will be able to hold a summer internship that extends into the beginning of the fall semester.

Qualifications

The College Fashion Week Fashion Intern must be passionate about style and fashion and demonstrate a creative perspective on collegiate style, have outstanding attention to detail and organizational skills, an ability to work efficiently under pressure, and preferably have event production experience. Interns need not be fashion majors to apply. Travel to the NYC show in September is required. All travel, lodging, and meal costs for this trip will be covered by Her Campus Media.

Additional Information

To apply, please submit a resume and cover letter explaining your interest and qualifications. This internship is unpaid but can be taken for school credit.
