Job Description
Home Instead is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Community Care Assistant to join our team in Hall Green, Birmingham. As a Community Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in enriching the lives of our clients by providing personalized care and support in their own homes.
- Offer meaningful companionship and emotional support to clients
- Assist with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and light housekeeping
- Provide non-medical personal care tailored to each client's specific needs
- Ensure client safety and well-being during visits
- Engage clients in activities that promote their physical and mental well-being
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients
- Communicate effectively with clients, their families, and the care team
- Document and report any changes in client condition or concerns
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, as well as health and safety guidelines
- Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities
Qualifications
- Passion for supporting and caring for others
- Reliable, trustworthy, and respectful demeanor
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build professional relationships
- Comfortable spending extended periods of time in the company of others
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions
- Physical stamina to assist clients with daily activities
- Basic understanding of health and safety practices in a care setting
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends
- Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred but not required)
- Previous caregiving experience is a plus, but not necessary – we provide comprehensive training
