As Cloud Operations Engineer at HomeValet, you will combine the skills of site reliability and cloud infrastructure engineer. You’ll work closely with the Head of Product Engineering to design, implement, monitor, and manage HomeValet’s core platform infrastructure and security. Using your understanding of Azure cloud offerings, our platform architecture, and our performance needs you’ll recommend cloud-native services that best meet HomeValet’s infrastructure needs.

You will work with product owners, leadership, and developers to understand monitoring and measurement needs for the platform. You’ll assist in the definition of monitoring strategy and tool selection to implement the strategy. You’ll serve as the domain expert, helping developers to understand how to instrument their code to meet our monitoring and performance measurement needs.

You will use infrastructure tools (infrastructure as code) to create repeatable infrastructure deployments. In collaboration with team leads and architects, you will create and maintain an automated deployment infrastructure that allows HomeValet to deploy with confidence at any time, even on a Friday afternoon before a major holiday if need be.

You will have primary responsibility for securing, monitoring, and managing HomeValet’s production infrastructure. You’ll work collaboratively with the development team to ensure that developers have access to suitable infrastructure that reflects our production infrastructure and any additional needs from a development perspective. You won't be doing a lift-and-shift of existing VMs; you'll be creating modern infrastructure that leverages the best that the cloud has to offer.

Experience with cloud infrastructure required, Azure preferred. HomeValet uses Terraform, Azure CLI, and Azure DevOps to create and maintain our infrastructure. Experience with those or similar tools will help you be more successful. Ideal candidates will have some software development background.
