Job Description

Horizon-Bradco is an international full-service provider of supermarket, bakery, meat, and food preparation equipment, delivering the highest quality product and service in the business. Horizon-Bradco is a fast-paced, high-growth company with 27 years of history, success and expanding market share.

This new position, reporting to the IT Manager, is responsible for providing IT support for team members both locally in Schenectady and remotely across multiple sites. Further, this position requires maintaining infrastructure locally and assisting in IT Projects both locally and onsite in multiple states – the position requires up to 30% travel.

Job Requirements:

• Provides technical support for PC’s, proprietary mobile tablets and peripherals for hardware and software with the goal of ensuring employee and client needs are met in a timely fashion.

• Troubleshoots issues and maintain hardware and software for employees and local IT infrastructure (Windows and SQL servers, SQL databases, phone system, mobile tablets, etc.).

• Works collaboratively to maintain the availability of IT infrastructure and for projects affecting both local and global sites alike

• Maintains and adheres to corporate standards for security rights, directory structures, system updates, group policies and related issues.

• Measures and reports project performance against budget and KPIs.

• Works effectively with local and remote team members to ensure smooth running of IT operations and project target dates.

• Able to function on-call after hours to assist in “system down” situations.

• Communicates project status, reports KPIs and manages risks and issues ensuring these are resolved or escalated as appropriate.

• Assists in the maintenance of the physical plant infrastructures, including wiring and cabling with fundamental understanding of switch configuration and controls in order to ensure integrity and reliability of the IT infrastructure.

• Helps team members achieve improvements in quality, service, cost, and growth by providing a secure and reliable means of accessing and sharing information.

• Maintains system and operational documentation for software and hardware.

• Assists with enforcement and procedures to ensure proper licensing and software compliance.

• Recommends solutions for improving user productivity through applied technology.

• Keeps current on developments in the field of client / server technology, networks and operations.

 



Qualifications

• Education:

o 2+ years of related college and/or technical training

o Certifications in IT field such as: A+, Network+, CISO, MCSA, MCITP (preferred)


• Technical Qualifications (2+ years of experience in the following areas):

o Windows and SQL Server experience

o SQL database experience

o TCP/IP Fundamental knowledge

o Windows 7 Desktop support

o Active Directory maintenance and troubleshooting

o Group Policy knowledge (Preferred)

o Proven project management experience in project execution processes and principles Microsoft office. (Preferred)

o Traverse and ERP experience/knowledge (Preferred)

o Microsoft Office 2010 troubleshooting support (Required).



• Other Experience:

o Ability to work with minimal supervision

o Ability to communicate technical ideas clearly and effectively to team members

o Ability to communicate technical jargon into understandable information to non-IT team members

o Strong organizational and project skills

o Ability to prioritize team members’ and clients’ needs

o Must be able to work effectively and consistently in a fast-paced growth environment.
