Job Description

Huckberry is looking for a passionate, self proclaimed gear nut with e-commerce buying, merchandising or marketing experience to drive the assortment of our Everyday Carry department – this includes Bags, Wallets, Knives, Pocket Tools, Sunglasses and more. A key member of the Brand Partnerships team, you will lead the execution of EDC merchandise strategy while simultaneously delivering on financial goals and business objectives. We are looking for someone who has a deep product passion, a knack for sniffing out the newest, coolest gear, and a genuine curiosity about the stories and people that make it. Our EDC Buyer has exceptional judgement. good business sense, and a deep understanding of the Huckberry customer. Maintaining and nurturing ongoing brand relationships and real friendships with our partners is a key to success. This role work closely with our creative teams to produce compelling, exclusive marketing campaigns. 

Qualifications

Position Responsibilities

  • Establish & maintain vendor relationships
  • Scout best in class product that surprises and delights our customer
  • Negotiate buying terms with vendors (price, quantity, delivery/ payment terms) for a win-win scenario
  • Work with Creative Services teams to produce an event of high marketing, storytelling & sales power for our partners
  • Work with planners for optimal inventory position
  • Deliver creative assets from the Vendor to the Creative Team in a timely manner (images, press kits, samples for photo shoots)
  • Accurate data entry for Product Creation
  • Work directly with vendors & our creative teams to ensure all information related to event is 100% accurate 


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2-5 years professional experience in buying, merchandise planning or a related field
  • Demonstrates overcoming objections in sales/negotiations
  • Highly detail oriented and organized
  • A passion for products, gear, and the outdoors
  • Excitement for Huckberry and our mission!
  • E-commerce experience is preferred
  • Demonstrates understanding of merchandising and retail math
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills
