Job Description

Hey everyone,

Richard, Huckberry co-founder, here. My co-founder, Andy, and I are looking for an operations expert to ride shotgun with us as we build Huckberry into the most inspiring, creative and profitable company in eCommerce.

Fundamentally this role is about helping us scale Huckberry into a best-in-class $100 million+ (emphasis on plus) e-commerce company.

This person will report to me, Richard, and will be a key leader in scaling the business. She/he will collaborate with the entire Huckberry team to maximize the company’s overall performance, build high performing teams that collaborate effectively, and focus on scaling the back-end operations of Huckberry.

Since we're a startup, you'll wear many hats, of course, and so we'll also look to you to help us jumpstart our Finance and HR divisions — and when those divisions are in a good place, help us hire leadership to run to those divisions.

Our ideal candidate is highly analytical and strongly believes in feedback loops and constant improvement (bonus points if they're familiar with the theory of constraints and subscribe to lean thinking). She/he will be highly customer focused with strong general management skills and broad exposure to e-commerce / retail business.

Core Responsibilities include:

Scaling Operations

  • Buying / inventory holding processes
  • Logistics / fulfillment strategy
  • Network design

Financial Sustainability, Planning, and Execution

  • Accounts Payable oversight
  • Budgeting, forecasting, and cash management 
  • Sell-through and inventory management

Office & Customer Experience Management

  • HR oversight
  • Customer experience
  • Cross team communication / process

General Leadership Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement process across internal teams
  • Identify and eliminate operational inefficiencies

Qualifications

You are: 

  • data-driven logistics + ops leader, who knows how to build and motivate a team
  • understand a P&L statement well enough to help organize the finance and accounting approach
  • a hustler
  • extremely organized
  • fun to work with
  • an excellent communicator
  • know Excel like the back of your hand (but also took notice that this bullet point doesn't flow like the rest)

You love:

  • adventure
  • men's style
  • the outdoors

You have: a bachelor’s degree and 5-7 years in a strategic and analytical role in ops, finance, management consulting, or corporate strategy. MBA is a plus.
