Job Description
We are looking for a Finance & Accounting Senior Analyst to join the team in San Francisco, California or Columbus, Ohio and report directly to Richard, co-founder of Huckberry in San Francisco. This person is responsible for building and supporting all company-wide financial reporting, monthly closes, forecasting, budgeting and strategic analysis. The ideal candidate has an e-commerce (or retail) background and is a highly independent self starter who's capable of working with Richard — who previously worked as an investment banker — to grab our Financial & Accounting operations by the horns, and help scale the departments and the team.
Fundamentally this role is about helping us scale Huckberry's finance / accounting into a best-in-class $100 million+ (emphasis on plus) e-commerce company.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead our finance and accounting efforts at Huckberry
- Annual budget process and monthly financial planning / forecasting
- Create and analyze monthly financial and business operating reports while making recommendations to improve results
- Manage our Accounts Payable team and help establish more robust internal controls and process
- Perform inventory analyses and work with our Planning and Merchandising teams to maintain optimal inventory levels across departments
- Provide financial, analytical and decision support for the senior team at Huckberry
- Help drive / improve high level strategy
- At times dig into operational analysis around: returns, logistical costs, customer service, etc
Qualifications
- 3+ years of work experience in analytical roles, such as corporate finance, accounting, investment banking or in FP&A at another retailer or e-commerce company
- Mandatory accounting experience
- Huge plus if you have retail and/or e-commerce experience
- Independent person, motivated self-starter, and positive attitude
- Must be an analytical, strategic thinker with the ability to effectively collaborate with various teams
- Able draw concise and crisp conclusion from complex and detailed data, and present results to senior team at Huckberry
- Advanced understanding of accounting and interrelationship of financial statements
- Highly proficient in Excel, Financial Modeling and Quickbooks
