Job Description

Responsibilities

      • Ensure the daily HACCP documentation is complete, pre-shipment reviewed & proper follow-ups are documented
      • Represent Food Safety and Quality on cross-functional project teams
        Identify, define and solve quality issues in association with the plant operations, quality and continuous improvement team
      • Assist in third party audits: serve in a support role in regulatory audits
      • Train personnel on GMP’s, HACCP, and SQF
      • Conduct monthly GMP’s audits
      • Knowledge of GFSI Benchmarked Schemes (SQF) GMP’s, Sanitation, Pest Control, Food Safety and HACCP Systems
      • Document all observations and corrective actions and initiate enforcement action where warranted
      • Assist in investigating and responding to customer complaints
      • Perform microbiological analysis to environmental and raw material samples
      • Follow up Pest Control reports
      • Coverage of Quality Control Technicians when required
      • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

      • B.S. in Food, Microbiology or Chemical Engineering required.
      • Knowledge of quality auditing (GMP, GFSI [SQF,HACCP, SSOP), government regulatory requirements, food safety, food manufacturing processes, technologies or other relevant area of responsibility.
      • Familiarity with using continuous improvement tools and fundamentals.
      • Demonstrated technical report writing skills.
      • Sound communication skills (written and verbal).
      • Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external customers.
      • Strong computer skills.
      • Bilingual English-Spanish preferred
