Job Description

The Head of Data takes ultimate responsibility for managing and co-ordinating Hypenica's CRM database system (ZoHo) comprising 40 000 contacts.


They will be an internal advocate for the effective use of the database. While they will be responsible for training and supporting the entire organisation they will work specifically with a team of event and publishing marketing managers to assist in pulling lists, flagging and categorizing data for various marketing activations.


The Head of Data will be responsible for ensuring that each integrated marketing campaign is supported with a sizeable number of relevant, confirmed and qualified industry contacts and is responsible for ensuring that the database expands and is continually updated.


If required the Head of Data will be responsible for databuilding assignments – working with a team of capturers/researchers and will also take on specific data building assignments. Databuilding includes validating contact details of existing contacts already on the database and researching new contacts to build and improve the quality of our current database


He/she will also need to ensure that a team of data capturers and researchers’ remain productive and achieve specific KPIs on a daily and weekly basis.


Responsibilities:
  • Establishing database design principles and implementing across the organisation

  • Building, segmentation and processing data to executive marketing campaigns

  • Setting up and testing new approaches to managing/viewing and handling data

  • Building, developing and managing of database (existing and new)

  • Developing principles for data processing

  • Monitoring database performance and efficiency (includes database protection)

  • Designing and preparing regular reports for the event teams

  • Troubleshooting issues as they arise

  • Communicating a passion and presence for data within the business

  • Developing a culture that ensures data is valued and managed as a key asset in the business

  • Ensuring all data complies with legal regulations

  • Establish rules and procedures for data sharing with external stakeholders etc

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification

  • Proven ability and experience working with and managing a CRM / database system preferably ZoHo or Sales Force
