related to poverty, including health, financial services, gender equity, water and sanitation, community
development and agriculture.

Job Description

We are seeking a part time bookkeeper (20 hours/week) to join IDEO.org in our San Francisco office. This role demands an entrepreneurial individual with a high level of motivation, flexibility and dedication.  Our pace is fast, our processes fluid, and our environment less than traditional.  We are a highly networked organization that thrives on relationships, trust, collaboration and credibility.  We are looking for someone who is quick, enthusiastic, and has an extremely high level of detail and organization.


General Accounting

- Payroll processing, accurately reporting time sensitive changes and deductions.  

- Journaling to Quickbooks with correct allocations

- Prepare weekly Accounts Payable, obtain approvals, prepare checks for signature and mailing

- Reconcile monthly credit card expenses and charge to correct programs and funders appropriately

- Assist in invoicing clients and reconciling Accounts Receivable

- Resolve billing and payment discrepancies

- Respond to inquiries from vendors and contractors.


Qualifications

You are:

- An advanced Quickbooks Online user

- Familiar with payroll processing software

- Adept with Microsoft Excel, Google Drive programs

- Can multi-task and prioritize time-sensitive tasks

- Able to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision

- A team player, but still able to work independently

- An excellent interpersonal communicator

- Highly detail-oriented and organized

Qualifications:

- Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting

- 3+ years of bookkeeping experience, perferably with a professional organization

- Ability to commit to this role for 6+ months

- Ability to work in San Francisco
