Job Description

We are seeking a Talent and Experience Lead to join IDEO.org in New York City to act as a cornerstone of culture and talent in our upcoming studio. The Talent and Experience Lead role is about building talent and community, helping individuals connect to the right people, information and resources; and promoting overall workplace wellness. Special emphasis is placed on developing one-on-one relationships with designers to help facilitate a dynamic and collaborative working environment. The Talent and Experience Lead is part of a broader community – the IDEO.org Global Talent and Experience Team – that focuses on making the employee, partner, and organizational experience extraordinary.

This position is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated person with some relevant experience in a professional creative environment. Previous hires for this role have experience in education, psychology, counseling, hospitality, organizational design, and/or project coordination.

Above all, this role requires an individual who is a fast learner, enthusiastic, detail- oriented, empathetic, and with a high level of discretionary tact. Someone who desires to set the bar for quality and professionalism will thrive. Key Responsibilities:

Community & Culture - Nurture a diverse community of talented individuals via one on one conversation, social and theme related gatherings, planning off sites and by looking for opportunities to create unique & impactful experiences. This includes supporting the IDEO.org NYC studio with day-to-day activities and long-term projects with an emphasis on culture, community and great design. Foster the global IDEO.org community across multiple studio locations.

Recruiting – Building out a pool of diverse and interested candidates in the IDEO.org network, leading the recruiting process for the IDEO.org NYC studio, and managing the recruiting experience and process.

Team Building – First point of contact in managing the logistics and information flow involved in recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and building and maintaining great team dynamics.

Human Resource & employment questions – Act as first point of contact for employment related questions and direct individuals to the appropriate resources. This includes owning the on-boarding experience for new employees, wellness, and logistics for career development.

Internal Mentorship Program – Collaborate with IDEO.org leadership in facilitating our mentorship program for employees in NYC as well as the IDEO.org global community.

Event Planning & Execution - Collaborate with internal and external Experience Teams in planning/executing events, leading projects related to improving the experience of our people, partners and our work.


Qualifications


This is you:

  • You are a good listener, an effective communicator, as well as a tactful, firm, logical, objective decision maker. Judgment & Discretion are key.
  • You are great at establishing systems and programs to ensure operation is running smoothly; is very detail oriented and fanatical about follow up to see things through to completion
  • You will quickly understand IDEO.org’s explicit formal policies and less formal social norms to get to the point where they can make consistent, independent operational decisions.
  • You enjoy focusing on the operational and experiential details that enable great design work and has a desire to create collaborative and inspiring work environments
  • You have 3-5 years of experience in a creative and multi-disciplinary environment.
