The build and deployment team is the "spider in the web" team at IFS R&D. Team is working on facilitating that the whole solution is built together by owning and promoting the use of modern CI pipelines and automating the delivery of various test environments. The team also has the responsibility to help promote DevOps practices throughout the R&D organization.

An Architect / Principal DevOps Engineer will take the lead in designing, developing, deploying and maintaining new and existing tooling/automation solutions to enable IFS to further drive the reliability and efficiency of its operating platforms.

An Architect / Principal DevOps Engineer at IFS is also the driver of further automation in the area in which the person is working and ensures the continued robustness of the team’s daily operations. This work is focused on ensuring that continuous integration, testing and deployments are facilitated through the use of industry DevOps best practices and tools.

Architects / Principal DevOps Engineers use their extensive technical know-how to support the entire IFS organization to develop services in such a way that they always can be deployed and tested with a high degree of automation. They demonstrate a strong commitment to the service and process quality and take a leading role in further promoting process efficiency within the whole organization and are expected to continuously expand their process and technical domain knowledge and share this knowledge to guide others.

You will have knowledge/skills in the following areas.

• A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or Information Technology along with minimum of 7 years experience in a similar role
• Extensive Operational experience in Docker, Kubernetes
• Extensive scripting experience in Terraform, PowerShell, Ansible, Python or similar
• Strong understanding of Linux
• Exposure to GIT, Bitbucket, and Azure Pipelines 
• Operational experience in Cloud monitoring, Infrastructure monitoring, Application monitoring and Database monitoring
• Experience in Rook, Ceph storage and monitoring solutions like Prometheus will be an added advantage
• Configuration management with Ansible
• Cloud resource management (K8s, AKS, Scalability of cloud resources)
• Excellent communication and multi-tasking skills along with an innovative mindset
