Job Description
R&D COO Office team is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Project Manager to join our Project Management Office (PMO) Team
R&D COO Office enables the R&D organization to rollout high-quality products by ensuring planning and execution of our product releases, aligned ways of working, project management and communication according to the Rhythm of the Business.
As a Senior Project Manager in R&D, you will become part of a team who are responsible for driving strategic programs and projects as well as business transformation initiatives that are key to the future success of R&D. Your responsibilities will include:
Project Management and Delivery: lead multiple projects with cross-functional teams to achieve strategic objectives. tasks include managing project charter & scope, resource allocation, schedule management, financial oversight, and ensuring adherence to standards, addressing issues, mitigating risks, and handling change requests.
Inspire Project Teams: Assign responsibilities, track milestones, and foster a collaborative environment. Encourage innovation and excellence.
Stakeholder Management and Accountability: Engage with and manage key stakeholders across the project lifecycle. Foster positive relationships, ensuring their needs are acknowledged and addressed. Set clear expectations with stakeholders regarding project scope, timelines, and deliverables. Proactively manage stakeholder expectations throughout the project lifecycle. Take ownership of project outcomes, demonstrating accountability for results.
Process Improvement: Contribute to continuous process enhancements related to project delivery. Identify areas for improvement and implement best practices.
Hands-on Project Management: Drive efficiency, ensuring high-quality deliverables within specified time and budget constraints. Align project outcomes with the anticipated benefits outlined in the business case. Skillfully manage project scope and handle any changes that arise.
Reporting and Communication: Regularly report on project progress, success criteria, metrics, and deployment activities. Effective communication with stakeholders, including clients and leadership, is expected
Qualifications
To excel as a Senior Project Manager within our R&D team, possessing a positive attitude and a “can-do” mindset is crucial. We anticipate that you will think innovatively, challenging the status quo in your pursuit of continuous improvement. As a successful candidate, you should embody the following:
Education and Knowledge:
- Education in Project Management, Management Information Systems or a similar domain
- Any professional qualifications in project or program management (PMP, PRINCE2, PSM) will be an added advantage
- Minimum five years of documented history in project management.
Organizational Skills:
- Exceptional organizational abilities, both verbal and written communication.
- Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills, with a willingness to mentor junior team members and share knowledge.
Project Management Toolbox:
- Proficiency in utilizing a solid project management toolbox.
- Understanding of managing business cases, creating a project charter, and engaging with steering committees.
- Knowledge in project management tools including JIRA, MS Project will be an added advantage
Facilitation Skills:
- Excellent facilitation skills for meetings, workshops, and conferences.
- Proven ability to foster active participation and collaboration in both small and large groups.
Global Knowledge:
- Comfortable working in a global, matrix organization.
- navigate diverse cultures and time zones.
Decision-Making and Execution:
- Confidence in making independent decisions.
- Ensuring effective execution of project tasks.
Operational Focus:
- Not afraid to roll up your sleeves and get hands-on when necessary.
