Job Description
The Indiana University Foundation is seeking an exceptional people leader to serve as our inaugural Assistant Vice President, Donor & Partner Engagement on the Advancement Services leadership team. Advancement Services is a high-performing department that excels in delivering support for Indiana University engagement activities through strong, collaborative relationships with IU partners and by ensuring efficiency with clear processes, defined roles, and streamlined operations.
This newly created role offers the opportunity to build and lead a critical pillar within the Advancement Services team—Partner Engagement—while also evaluating and perfecting our established Donor Engagement and Stewardship programs. We’re looking for a strategic, visionary leader ready to create exceptional experiences for Indiana University donors and to find new ways of serving our advancement colleagues across Indiana University.
The AVP will lead a talented team of 25+ professionals dedicated to high-touch, high-impact donor experiences and relationship-driven stewardship. This leader is responsible for direct strategic planning, operational best practices, data-informed decision-making, and creating centralized services that empower collaboration and drive results. From exceptional event experiences to scalable stewardship, you’ll bring a holistic approach to advancing the mission and elevating and celebrating IU’s legacy of generosity. Qualifications
Knowledge and Skills:
- Ability to learn new technology platforms with an eye toward continual process improvement.
- Demonstrated application of systems-thinking.
- Proven track record of successfully managing complex projects and events.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in data management and analysis.
- Experience with CRM systems and event management software.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Education and Experience:
- BS/BA or higher in a related discipline
- Master’s degree preferred
- 10 years of experience in a related field including several years in a management/people leadership capacity
