Job Description


The Specialist, Payroll ensures timely and accurate processing of all salaried payrolls, including review of automated data uploads, processing status change forms, cheque distribution, legislated employee remittances and Records of Employment.

• Responsible for or backup for the data collection and updates to ADP on a weekly basis
• Input data from status change forms (hire, terminations, increases etc.)
• Prepare ad hoc payroll reports
• Conversant with HCM, TEAM and SmartRecruiters systems or version of
• Prepare or support manual journal entries, as required
• Liaise with human resources or store management teams on payroll issues
• Maintain personnel files (including filing as required)
• Distribution of records of employment & follow-up calls from Service Canada
• Assist with the distribution of year end T4s
• Act as an advocate for the customer by placing them at the forefront of all decision-making and design processes
• Proactively identify and anticipate customer expectations and needs
• Embrace and seek out technology that creates high tech and high touch solutions for Indigo’s customers
• Challenge the status quo by consistently identifying areas for improvement, diagnosing issues and working to resolve them



• Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in finance or a related field
• 3 to 5 years’ experience processing payroll for organizations with 5000+ employees
• Certified Payroll Compliance Practitioner required
• Experience with ADP payroll platforms, ideally WorkForce Now
