Job Description

Do you want to support the construction of IKEA stores worldwide and make them more sustainable? Would you like to work in an open-minded and international environment?

We are looking for an intern for at least 6 months at our office in Helsingborg, preferably starting from September 2018.

During your internship you will be a part of our construction and sustainability team in the IKEA Retail Architecture department. The tasks that you will support with are:

  • Make digital documentation supporting the construction of IKEA stores
  • Support architects with conceptual design questions
  • Evaluate and test new building solutions
  • Support the development of ways to measure CO2 footprint
  • Contribute to more sustainable design process (ex.: BREEAM)

Qualifications

Is this the right challenge for you?

You are in your final year of studies in the field of civil engineering, or recently received a master’s degree. You have interest or knowledge in more sustainable design. You are an independent person with good social skills, and you like working in an international environment. You speak and write English fluently.

Inter IKEA Systems Service B.V. is the owner of the IKEA Concept and the worldwide IKEA franchisor. Our assignment is to continuously develop the IKEA Concept and to ensure its successful implementation in existing and new markets.

At IKEA Retail Architecture department our task is to design new IKEA stores worldwide. We work with a variety of projects in many different countries: from stand-alone stores in the US to stores connected to shopping centres in Russia, and stores in a city centres in Germany.

We set our ambitions regarding the building, operation, and maintenance of all our buildings with the goal to achieve the lowest possible environmental footprint.
