Job Description

Right now we are setting up three Competence Areas in IKEA Communications. Project Operations is one of and we are looking for a Production Leader Competence Manager.    

Project Operations will support projects at IKEA Communications with specialist format-independent competences leading, managing, facilitating and supporting tailor-made creative teams in the different phases of ideation, creation, and development of communication. Continuously improving and simplifying the overall communication development process from end-to-end with seamless handovers and excellence in planning and securing quality, time and cost with strong competence in project management, tools and frameworks.

Project Leaders will be one of the competence areas in Project Operations.

The Competence Area of Project Leaders will support IKEA Communications with specialist competences in project leadership. 

As a Competence Manager you will…

  • Create and secure a long- and short-term development plan for the competence area, ensuring activities are executed according to and in alignment with the organization’s competence development roadmap.
  • Ensure the continuous development of the co-worker’s project/production management expertise to remain ahead of the organization’s competence needs.
  • Work closely with building bridges between creation and production operations, taking an active role in different stages of production, securing clarity of roles and responsibilities within the competence area.
  • Partner with assignment areas and relevant stakeholders to further clarify assignment and competence needs, securing the creative work translates into the expected outcome (regardless of format).
  • Develop and maintain a strong external network with project leaders or similar competences within the field.
  • Scope for potential new capabilities and/or external partnerships associated with the competence area that can be brought in to further strengthen IKEA Communications expertise and long-term value.
  • Contribute to the necessary movements to remain at the forefront of today’s best practices, industry trends and digital/technological competitive landscape.
  • Manage the necessary recruitment and succession plans to meet the organization’s competence demands, both short- and long-term.
  • Lead and manage people in order for them to perform and deliver within their assignment as high-performing individuals.
  • Encourage co-workers to be in the lead of their own development, keeping up-to-date with new/latest competence demands, technical capabilities, technological advancements, consumer trends and Life at Home insights.
  • Create pre-conditions for a trustful, inclusive, engaging and future-oriented learning environment that supports the co-worker’s continuous competence development, leadership capabilities and entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Manage closely the connected performance indicators to secure delivery within the agreed frames (quality, time, costs).
  • Be a change driver for creating an ideas and feedback culture that support the entrepreneurial spirit and professional development of leaders and co-workers alike.
  • Challenge current ways of working, enabling co-workers to take lead in exploring new creative heights and production methods that lead to more impactful and relevant customer experiences.

Qualifications

You’ll need:

  • Extensive experience leading projects for a large agency or brand.

  • Experience leading and developing competences.

  • Project management methodologies and frameworks.

  • General understanding of the creative & product development process.

  • Experience developing content through storytelling.

  • Knowledge of how costumers consume and experience communication.

  • Experience identifying and mapping out co-worker capabilities.

  • Experience working in a high-volume production environment with tight deadlines.

  • Experience working in a multicultural, creative and inclusive work environment.

  • Fluency in English, spoken and written.
