Job Description

At IKEA Communications we are setting up a new organisational structure to lead the next generation IKEA communications from assignment management through creation and production to content made available to IKEA to use.

We’re now looking for a Business Navigation & Finance Manager who can facilitate a strong performance culture and lead with insights in order to identify business potentials and enable innovation. You will also steer the business through the strategic landscape, taking lead in fact based decision-making and supporting with tools, insights and recommendations to enable goal achievements and financial control.     

As a Business Navigation & Finance Manager will steering business through the strategic landscape, taking lead in fact based decision-making and supporting with tools, insights and recommendations, enable goal achievements and customer satisfaction.    

 You will:

  • Enable business development by being an active partner in business and action planning; securing that business intelligence is analysed and acted upon, identifying potentials and risks in and around the business, taking lead in budgeting and financial planning and exploring the future by building scenarios and contingency plans.
  • Secure conditions for a long term profitable business by navigating and steering towards set goals and within financial frames.
  • Be responsible for financial planning, record keeping and reporting, adherence to power of authority (POA) structure and common chart of accounts (CCA) and accurate accounting, budgeting and resource planning. Responsible for securing and reporting accurate and compliant accounted results.
  • Be responsible for securing compliance to accounting and tax laws and legal rules and standards. Ensure governance and compliance with local laws (in the area of Finance, Tax and Administration) as well as IKEA internal rules and guidelines (i.e. Code of Conduct). Act as the contact person to external authorities (tax, legal, government, etc.) in case of enquiries or inspections.
  • Be responsible for securing the operative flow of the yearly and monthly closing of the book process.
  • Lead business performance management; lead the translation of business plans into goals and budgets and steer towards a balanced totality, secure timely, accurate, relevant and understandable performance and financial reporting and follow-up and lead fact based decision making.
  • Facilitate a strong performance culture where navigation is pro-active towards clear goals and budgets, deviations are detected early and acted upon and where business and financial insights reach the right receivers at the right time.
  • Secure overall implementation and compliance to processes and ways of working by securing governance structure, deviations handling, meeting calendar and year cycle in the unit.
  • Lead project portfolio management, to ensure right priorities in relation to business plan ambitions and balanced resource planning.
  • Be responsible for communicating business results, financial results and goal achievement in a clear and inspiring way, making business analysis available and actionable and for working actively with raising overall business and financial understanding in the unit.
  • Be overall responsible for risk management, safety & security, maintenance and overall process implementation and compliance
  • Recruit, develop and secure succession of Business navigation and finance co-workers.
  • Create pre-conditions for a trustful and secure learning environment that supports the continuous development of co-workers.
  • Secure a healthy and well balanced working environment that enables co-worker engagement, team spirit and togetherness.

Qualifications

You’ll need:

  • Academic degree within finance, business administration, economics or similar.
  • Deep knowledge about financial planning, accounting, budgeting, forecasting and cost controlling
  • Experience from working within business controlling/ navigation in a global environment, preferably having an understanding of the IKEA business model, strategic landscape, IKEA ways of working and value chain.
  • Experience working with accounting principles, VAT and tax regulations.
  • Experience as manager and leading co-workers and process development.
  • Sound knowledge of calculation systems, MS office package and reporting tools.
  • Fluency in both verbal and written English.
