Right now, we are looking for a User Experience Designer for IKEA Home Smart.

As a User Experience Designer at IKEA Home Smart, you will:

  • Define and control user interaction paradigms for IKEA Home smart products. 
  • Steer external agencies for project-based UX design assignments.
  • Drive insight-based decisions through data and evidence as well as empathy.
  • Support UX Leader in creating future UX Strategies.
  • Create aspirational concepts for future devices.
  • Use early prototyping as an everyday tool for perfecting experiences.
  • Connect the needs of design, engineering and business in a great balance.
  • Ensure a clear synergy between user behavior, technology, and IKEA needs.
  • Challenge existing solutions by driving meaningful innovation and creativity throughout the development.

Qualifications

To excel at this job, you must have experience of designing interactions for products/solutions that include software and digital interfaces for consumer products. You should be experienced and motivated in working in a rapidly changing environment. You must have deep passion and a deep interest about life at home and customer needs. You should ideally possess a good level of knowledge about modern digital and physical product development processes including Agile and Lean.

Needless to say, you are skilled in storytelling, user flows, wireframing and usability with a magical ability to make complicated technology friendly to the many people.

We believe you have a University-level education in the areas of;

  • Interaction Design
  • Industrial Design
  • Software Engineering
  • Psychology
  • Product Development

Ideally, you have the equivalent knowledge and experience in product development from global organizations together with leadership experience. Plus, a proven track record as a UX professional with minimum 5 years of experience as a designer working on innovative digital solutions.

Our corporate language is English, so you need to be fluent in English, both verbally and in writing. The position is placed in Älmhult and might require some long distance travelling.
