Data Steward

  • Full-time

Company Description

At IKEA of Sweden in Älmhult, the IKEA range is developed and made available to stores and customers all over the world! It is also here in Älmhult where we explore the future to create ideas and innovations for a better everyday life at home for the many people.

The range is our identity and the product information is an essential part of the IKEA Concept. New technology is changing behaviour and the demands for new ways to interact and share real-time insights are essential for continuous growth. The goal of the IKEA Product Information Management (IPIM) Programme is to create a foundation that enables a digital ecosystem with the IKEA range at its heart. It means exploring and designing how data – about and around our products – is created and captured, how it is distributed and made available. IPIM is a programme that covers the whole IKEA value chain and all IKEA retailers.

We are currently looking for a Data Steward to join the Product Information Management team. Are you our new colleague?

Job Description

As a Data Steward you will embark on an exciting journey in the digital transformation of IKEA! You will help set-up the future capabilities for product information at IKEA by providing a framework and governance for data & information management. You will map out how product information is being created, enriched and consumed today. And you will help create the pre-conditions for future data & information usage - to create great and personalized experiences for our customers, suppliers and co-workers. You will be assessing data quality at the source and across systems, and take corrective actions where needed with the responsible information owners and content generators. You will be working closely connected to and interact with many stakeholders in IKEA – building a strong network and securing involvement of relevant stakeholders in all we do.

The responsibilities in your role include:
•    Ensure the integrity of data around products within all sources, and ensuring the compliance to legal rules, IKEA policies and standards
•    Secure that information/data  is available in line with the needs from all stakeholders in the value chain
•    Identify data quality issues by analysing the results of data profiling and monitoring
•    Support in communicating the information definition, business rules and information usage to the stakeholders
•    Support and educate users on product information governance and processes
•    Handle operational requests related to Product related Information and Data Management (e.g. clarification of ownership and data sources)
•    Support in making business impact assessments for changes in the data model.
